My experience is specific to the airport pick up that ALWAYS falls over dinner time. Yours might be late arvo sporting commitments or the post work/daycare commute, whenever you find yourself in the car close to or during dinner time create yourself a simple and easy solution. Avoid the hangry meltdowns or endless snacks so close to dinner.

Don’t overthink it, most kids would far prefer a simple easy to eat picnic dinner over a delayed or distressed dinner experience anytime.

Gosh, I wish this list of symptoms was available to me when I was a young woman. I think back to my 18yo self like it was yesterday (I wish) and vividly remember the pain and discomfort. To which was only outweighed by shame and embarrassment. I had no clue what I was experiencing and was too embarrassed for a long time to seek advice or medical attention. For a long time I suffered in silence. This post brings rise to so many points which ill save for another day, for now let's just share the sign and symptoms of a UTI and what to look for.

Ever feel like change is too big or too hard? 🙋🏼‍♀️

I can attest to a time when being a healthier, happier and thriving version of myself felt impossible, like it was a path for someone else, someone superior or luckier than me.

Sadly upon reflection, I see now that the only person standing in my way was me. I was guilty of short-sighted thinking and taking the easy way out.

I can’t pinpoint an exact change or turning point; there’s no big event or specific story that has contributed to my personal growth. Perhaps that’s the point. It’s everything and nothing.

One small step at a time, I decided to design and create a life where I truly understand what it feels like to thrive.

Perfection is never my goal; I’m human; rather I choose to focus on growth and gratitude; together, these two things hold my hand as I take each step on this incredible journey.

I love quick and easy home made sauces, marinades, pickled vegetables, fermented foods, cultured dairy the list is endless, they are a regular appearance in my fridge, often on rotation.

There are so many benefits to homemade food items; freshness, choosing seasonal, variety, no additives or preservatives, more cost effective etc.

HOWEVER, there is also a downside. Possible contamination. It’s so important to treat these foods with the respect they require.

Despite the odd flop like this batch of beetroot I’m never deterred because I’m far more comfortable consuming the real deal. Just a very good reminder to take.

It’s not only important that we have a healthy and positive relationship with all foods, I think it’s fundamental, sugar included.

I’m a sucker for a scoop of ice-cream or a chocolate fix with the best of them. In fact there was a time in my life that the 3:30 energy crash would have me scrambling for something sweet. Or I would finish my plate and then look for something sweet to round out the meal and have me feeling satisfied. I needed a fix!

Trouble is, these were cravings and habits that didn’t resemble a healthy relationship with sugar, they bordered on dependency.

Over the years I have made several changes that now allow me to indulge and enjoy the sweeter things in life without feeling dependent on them.

To that note I’ve written down some of my top tips for how to have a healthy relationship with sugar and reduce the sugar cravings.

No, I’m not wishing my life away, actually quite the opposite.

We all know wishes don’t necessarily come true, and superstition notes it’s bad luck to share them. So perhaps “wish” might be the incorrect term to use in this instance, but let it be known that my objective remains 100% the same, and I’m determined as ever!

FACT, we are all ageing and getting older. For many, this increase in years can often sadly mean a decline in health. I’m making it my utmost intention to age well. To that note, I’m no fool, and I realise that the laugh lines and smile wrinkles have and will continue to appear; my body will change so too will the things it requires.

However, I’m promising to take every necessary action now to ensure I can maintain optimal cognitive and physical health to fully participate in my life until my final day.

Fundamentally my goal is to strive to live a healthier, more prosperous and more fulfilling life, not just a long one!

Check out the Traditional Gravy Recipe Post on my grid. This time I drained half the liquid then added some pulverised meat and veg from the cooking ingredients. This made a larger quantity of gravy and a thicker consistency at the same time. Be sure to remove bones and herb stems beforehand.
